Diesel engine 12Ä49Ì

Diesel engine 12Ä49Ì (12×Í26/26) of unique design is intended for replacement of 16-cylinder engines (diesel-generator 1-9ÄÃ) whose service life has expired in locomotives 232 operated on German railways.

Modifications of this diesel engine can be widely used for renovation of old locomotives and construction of new locomotives rated 1470-2500 kW.

Engine design allows to retain the main locomotive parameters (power, design speed and tangential traction force) using the same electric equipment (generator, starter, exciting device). Diesel engine 12Ä49Ì is equipped with electronic speed and power governor, self-cleaning fine oil filter, thermal controllers in the oil system and has two-phase fuel delivery system etc.
