Diesel-generator 5-26ÄÃ
For replacement of diesel engine 14Ä40 (12ÄÍ23/30) whose service life has expired in diesel locomotives M62 diesel-generator 5-26Äà including diesel engine 12×Í26/26 is used. The design of the diesel-generator allows to use the same auxiliary and electric equipment.
Installation of diesel-generators 5-26ÄÃ featuring the latest design solutions in locomotives M62 allows to improve locomotive operational efficiency and to reduce:
- maintenance and repair costs;
- fuel consumption up to 20%;
- fuel consumption at idling by a factor of ~ â 1,8;
- oil consumption by a factor of ~ â 1,5.
Period of recovering locomotive modernization costs (including installation diesel-generator 5-26ÄÃ) is about 2,5 years.
Examples of application
Locomotives Ì62 equipped with diesel-generators 5-26ÄÃ have been in service on Oktyabr’skaya railway since 1996. Since 2002 ãîäà diesel-generators 5-26ÄÃ have been supplied to Belorussia and Mongolia, since 2003 – to Lithuania. In 2006 ãîäó supply of engines to Korean Democratic Republic started.
Diesel-generators are supplied complete with improved two-stage air cleaning system (with multi-cyclones and paper filters).
Environmental compatibility
Diesel-generator 5-26ÄÃ has improved environmental impact as compared with diesel-generator 14ÄÃ and complies with regulations Ð51250-99, Ð51249-99.
